Our Story

Bob and Susan Jasse have a life-long love of good food, good wine, good company and the beauty of the New Hampshire countryside.  Alyson’s Orchard is the culmination of such love.  Bob discovered the property flying over the region on his way to a skiing and hiking holiday with his family.  Struck by the setting’s beauty and sophisticated ecosystem, the former biologist and career entrepreneur immediately understood the opportunity he saw below.

The Jasses planted each and every tree after first clearing the land. Years later, Alyson’s is home to one of the finest heirloom apple orchards in North America featuring over 22 heirloom varieties and dozens of others. Throughout the summer and fall, the farm grows and harvests pears, plums, peaches, grapes, raspberries, blackberries, blueberries, sweet & sour cherries and quince among others.

Over the years, Alyson’s evolved into a full lodging and event center hosting hundreds of weddings, reunions and corporate retreats, all carefully planned and executed to maximize guest comfort within the natural, sustainable environment of the property. It all began in 1987 when a friend of the Jasse’s who had been a frequent weekend guest, asked if he might host his daughter’s wedding and reception on the farm. The nuptials were so well received that word quickly spread and before they knew it, the Jasses were helping guests make their wedding a unique experience. The popularity of Alyson’s bloomed and from weddings grew weekend getaways, and from weekend getaways grew vacations, family reunions and corporate retreats.

To accommodate the increasing number of guests, three lodging facilities were renovated. Our latest addition to the farm is Robert’s Hall, the finest meeting, and gathering facility in the region  - accommodating up to 250 people.  Equipped with a full professional kitchen, and featuring distinctive applewood and slate floors, the stunning Orchard Room within Robert’s Hall allows for a wide variety of events.

Alyson’s remains the only property in the area with access for Class aircraft and helicopters. The landing strip is available for use with prior clearance. Just call and we’ll help make the proper arrangements.

Today the 500 acre property retains all of the rustic splendor that first drew the family to southern New Hampshire back in 1980 and Bob and Susan’s joie de vivre is alive and well in everything we do. We invite you to come share that spirit  -- for a weekend, a week or as long as you’d like. Alyson’s, there is just no better place to pick.
